Ingenuity - from the folks who brought us the Volkswagen

When I went to the Body Vox dance concert (below) I parked at a University of Pennsylvania public lot across Walnut Street at 38th. It is a typical 7-story cement structure where you park your own car. Getting out after the show was painful all cars were funnelled through one lane and a payment booth operated by a slow, sullen attendant with a supervisor in the same booth. I literally waited 15 minutes just to pay and leave.

So naturally this picture attracted me. This is a German parking lot - no attendant, no waiting, all mechanical. And this beautiful design takes up only 1/5th of the space that a similar capacity lot would take in Philadelphia.
